Nathan Neath

Owner & Head Landscape Gardener

Nathan has a Royal Horticultural Society Diploma in Horticulture, Certificates in Landscape Design, Pruning, and is Permaculture Design Certified. He was also part of a Chelsea Flower Show Gold Medal-winning team. Nathan’s passion for plants and gardens has taken him all over the world - working in gardens in England, France, Spain, Thailand, Laos, Zimbabwe and Australia.

After working in several prestigious English gardens open to the public, Nathan was inspired to start his own landscape gardening business. Green Giant Gardens was established in 2009, with the name inspired by Nathan’s height: 6 foot 7! Since emigrating from England to Christchurch in 2014, Nathan has developed a deep knowledge of Canterbury’s native plants, soils and climatic conditions.

‘Nathan’s knowledge, skill and sheer hard work has constantly impressed. He has taken great care to listen to what I want whilst ensuring the planting is right for the location. I couldn't be more thrilled!’

 —Beth Jones

‘Nathan’s passion is particularly evident in his vast knowledge of plant specificity and suitability in any given environment … A joy to work with’
